Using a phone card or an AT&T credit card is usually the cheapest way to call home.  However, calling from a hotel room usually means an added surcharge by the hotel that can get expensive.  Phone cards can be purchased in Israel for between $10-$20 and we recommend using them to avoid high rates at the hotel.  If you plan to use your own calling card, please call them to get detailed instructions on how to use their card in Israel.
