Prior to departing the United States you will be provided with a list of phone numbers where you can be reached in Israel.  Please give these numbers to the appropriate family or friends that might need to contact you. There are also many internet cafes in Israel and in some of the hotels where you can access your private email accounts. For those who desire we can provide information on renting a cell phone while you are in Israel for those who want to have more direct access for family and friends.
